Article Marketing – So Just What Is The Point Of Marketing Your Articles On The Internet?

I wrote my first article in 1992 for a newsletter for the local Psychiatric Center.

I’ve been writing regular articles and columns since 1994 as a syndicated relationship columnist in the newspapers, reaching up to over 20 million people now. The Article Guy website and doing it this way, marketing articles on the internet, will celebrate only its second anniversary this October.

So things have grown by leaps and bounds, which tells me that what we’re doing here works.

The question I get often is “Why articles on the internet?” and this is the story I tell. I’ve been doing a weekly relationship column for the newspapers since 1994. I built an entire full and overflowing private practice in marriage and family therapy around that in Florida in the 90’s, and then transitioned into internet marketing.

Now most of my list, most of my subscribers, most of my new customers come in through articles, which is wonderful because it’s not pay per click, it’s free. Now 20-25% of that traffic from articles comes from my newspaper column, something I’ve been doing going on 13 years and reaches 20 million people a week.

So if you’re good at math like me, if it’s 20-25%, that means 75-80% of my traffic from articles comes from articles on the internet, from putting my articles up in article directories and having them spread all over the world.

So that’s a good example of how this works. Article marketing on the internet brings you traffic, prospects, publicity and profits.
