Relationship Self Help – Use it to Get Your Ex Back | ArticlesBase.com
Published by admin | Filed under Relationships
There are ample self-help methods regarding relationship which one can use to get intimacy back into one's relationship. Most people think that intimacy level starts to fade away as time passes by, and most people believe that this indicates that the love is gone too.
However, the truth is relationship had merely transformed into habits and routines which make people feel that their lovers had turned into roommates. Do not give up on your relationship at this stage. Instead, you should use some relationship-related self-help techniques to raise intimacy level back to the level when you first met each other.
1. Small Talk
It is proven through researches that couples who do small talks regularly argues less and fight less. One thing you should remember: small talk does not mean you should inundate your lover with hour-long of harangue about everything you do. Small talk is about sharing opinions and observations, and active responses to indicate an interest in what your partner is doing. Ask questions and make positive responses.
2. Eye contact
When you talk to your lover, try to look into his eyes. Instead of looking at where his eyes are – which is what people tend to do as relationship grows – you should make effort to make eye contact. Eye contact happens frequently at the initial stage of a relationship as it is a positive means of creating intimacy. However, this happens less as you become more familiar with your lover, which then lowers the level of intimacy hence leading to people believing that the intimacy is dying.
3. Non-sexual physical contact
Physical contact does not have to always be sexual. Touch your partner and encourage your partner to touch you as this can raise level of intimacy. A hug, a back massage or a foot rub is sufficient and they do not have to lead to something else. It is also advisable to hold hands when you go out with your lover. This will re-launch trust and intimacy in each other.
4. Appreciation
Choose to divert attention from focusing on your lover's bad habits to appreciating good things about them. Initially there must be some things about your partners that make you find them attractive, so focus on these things every day. Don't focus on the annoying traits – everyone has them, so it will be a waste of time.
5. Time Out
Spending all your time with your lover is not a good idea. What happens next is, when your loved one wants to spend some time doing something else on their own or with someone else, you start to feel isolated. Remember that everyone needs a little time away no matter how much they enjoy spending time with you. Researches also show that a relationship is improved when both parties trust each other and encourage each other to do something they like, which could be as simple as hanging out with their friends for a movie or a meal.
