Profitable Press Release Writing - 7 Effective Ways To Improve Your Press Releases
Published by admin | Filed under Writing and Speaking
A good press release effectively generates a lot of interest for what it promotes, be it a business, an event, a product, or service. In most instances, this interest translates to sales, and therefore profit.
To increase the profit your site is generating, you may want to consider writing a press release. Here are ways to write an effective press release that is sure to increase the revenue your site brings:
1.) Make it short. — Nothing turns off a reader than a long and boring press release. A press release is meant to be short and direct on top of interesting.
2.) State the facts and nothing more. — Although it’s tempting to make some embellishments to make your business look better, they won’t do you any good in the long run. Making your press release interesting doesn’t mean you have to make exaggerations. If you do, readers will make false expectations.
3.) Answer the questions who, what, where, when, why, and how. — Cover all your bases by answering all major questions that your readers may have about your announcement. They need to have full details if they’re going to take an active part in your business or event.
4.) Watch your grammar and spelling. — Errors with grammar and spelling make your press release look sloppy and unprofessional. Having a poor grasp of the English language (or whatever language you are using for your press release) does not help at all in achieving an image of authority which is needed if you want to have an influence over readers.
5.) Use a reader-friendly format. — One very long paragraph of content isn’t very appealing to readers’ eyes. It’s better to use a format with several short paragraphs. If you need to enumerate some points, use a numbering system or bullet points for more impact.
6.) Make sure your announcement is worthy of its own press release. — Don’t trivialize the marketing power of a press release by writing one for a non-newsworthy announcement. Readers will only be disappointed especially after a lot of hype has been generated.
7.) Be subtle in your approach. — A press release is really meant to advertise, but it shouldn’t sound like it does that. It should sound informative and not merely promotional.
