Article Marketing for Your Small Business

Published by admin | Filed under Business

Do you own a small business? If so, then advertising your company is of the utmost interest to you. While you might think that using radio, print or TV ads is the best way to go about marketing your company, you may be surprised at the other options open to your company. The Internet has ushered in a new age of marketing, providing you with several unique methods of getting out the word about what your company offers. One of the best (and most affordable) options out there is article marketing.

What is article marketing? How can it help your business? Article marketing relies on several things. First, you must have articles. These can be written by you, or you can choose to have them written by a professional writing company. Regardless, each article should be of high quality, written professionally and should feature the right keywords. What are keywords? Put succinctly, they are words that customers might use to search for products or services such as yours through search engines.

Each article should be written around a particular keyword or keyword phrase. In essence, the keyword becomes the topic of the article. This ensures that you are not simply throwing unrelated phrases into a page of text and hoping that your customers are not smart enough to notice your attempted deceit. This is a poor practice that does little to enhance your reputation in the industry. In fact, you can actually find yourself banned from search engine listings and from article directories if you follow this type of black-hat marketing.

This brings up the next part of the equation. Once you have your articles written, you will need to post them through an article directory (or two). These are free to use; just set up an account with the directory in question and you can begin posting. You'll even find that the directories give you a means to link from your article to your website or blog, through the author bio box at the bottom of the article.

Once posted and approved, your article can be read by customers, but it can also be used as ezine content, as web content and more. Article directories allow others to use your articles for their own needs, provided that the bio box is not altered or changed in any way. Obviously, article marketing can have a profound effect on your small business.
